Sunday 10 November 2019
After the success of our 2018 centenary event, we're delighted to announce that this very, very special and poignant marathon event will be back in 2019 for a special 101 edition to mark 101 years since the end of WW1. We're holding our annual Remembrance Day Marathon 101 Edition on Sunday 10th November 2019.
This event is built around a unique 'race freeze' at 11.00am, where at the sound of a horn blast all runners stop to observe the 2 minute silence, resuming their race at exactly 11.02am when we should 3 blasts of the horns.
This is not an event with a 2 minute put in it - this is a 2 minute silence with an entire marathon event built around it. It is the very heart and soul of this event and the reason it exists. It is a very moving, spine tingling experience to be part of.
The Medal ... Well, as has now become tradition with this event, we don't reveal that until the day itself, but let's just say these with be EPIC!
This event sold out months in advance last year so please enter early. Places will be strictly limited.
Off road trail, the terrain is riverside towpath - 4 out and back laps equal the full marathon distance.
The overall course has no elevation gain / loss making this a flat and fast route.
10th November 2019, or before if maximum entry numbers are reached (this is highly likely) There is NO 'on the day entry'.
