Manchester - Inaugural Dragonfly Run

Phoenix Running Manchester is inviting you to our first ever run in our awesome city - the Dragonfly Run!

All finishers will get a beautiful Dragonfly medal and there will be cake, the world-famous Phoenix aid station with all the sweet and savoury goodies, and lots of support to cheer every single one of you. V/GF options available.

This is one of our timed events where you choose - from 5km to 10k, half to marathon to ultra, you can complete as many, or as few, laps as you like of a 5.3km, 3.28 mile, out and back, course along the beautiful River Mersey.  We welcome all abilities of runners, walkers, joggers, hikers, Jeffers - complete one lap and you're both a finisher and a winner in our eyes, or keep going and see how far you can get in the full 7 hour time limit and everyone gets the fabulous bespoke finishers' medal.

Start times: We will have a 9 am mass-start option for our first event, but we are happy to accommodate early starters (earliest start 8am) and later starters, so we are really looking forward to welcoming you to start Summer 2025 with Phoenix Running Manchester!

Start at 9 am (Registration from 8am, if you need an early start, please email us ahead of time). You have until 4pm to finish your desired distance.

Parkrun: We are parkrun inclusive! So please show us your parkrun time and we will count this as your first lap. Win-win!

Not sure? Well the beauty of this format is that you don't even need to decide in advance - simply come and run a lap and see how you feel on the day and keep on going if it feels right.

Places will be strictly limited so don't leave it too late to enter.

Charity: Society for Abandoned Animals, Manchester.

We will be donating £1 for every participant to a selected charity. (For example, if we have 100 entries, we will donate £100).

Course: Minimum distance is 3.28 miles or as far as you can go in 7 hours. Off road trail, the terrain is riverside towpath. The overall course has no elevation gain / loss making this a flat and fast route.
